A bomb blast hit a mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno capital, in the early hours of Friday as worshippers attended early morning prayers. Although we have no exact figures yet, many deaths were recorded.
The blasts, according to residents occurred in Jiddari Polo area at about 5am when Muslims were performing the first congregational prayer of the day.
Security officials have cordoned the area and rescue work is ongoing.
