Most students tell various lies to their parents, most times, because they cant help it and other times, because they want something extra, here are some of the lies that parents fall for:
1. We pay school fees every semester
It is rare to see a school that does pay school fees every semester, yet most students collect school fees twice in a year, that is, every semester, instead of just once a year.
2. Our semester results are not yet out
For those students not doing very well in school, whenever their parents ask them for the results of the just concluded semester, their favorite response is that the results are not yet out, even if they are with them at that moment.
3. You must sort to pass that course
If a student does not do well in any course or maybe fails. Whenever the parent sees the result, most student, quickly lie that the course can only be passed if you sort the lecturer.
4. We were asked to stay back for practicals
Sometimes this is usually true. Yet, most times it is a lie, most students from sheltered homes are reluctant to leave the relative freedom they enjoy in schools, so they decide to stay back even during the holidays, using after exam practicals as an excuse.
5. I need a laptop to pass the course
While it is true that some courses might involve having a PC, it is never a must, you can always go to a cyber cafe or lend. However most students use this as an opportunity to get their own personal computers.
