The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) is constructing E-libraries worth N255 million in three public schools in Plateau, an official of the commission has said.
The official, Dr Yakubu Gambo, the Deputy Executive Secretary, Services, told reporters on Sunday in Jos that project in each of the three schools would cost N85 million.
He said the libraries, which were nearing completion, were located at the Unity College Bokkos, Government Secondary School Pankshin and Federal Government Girls College, Langtang.
Gambo said the libraries would re-position the schools for learning and research materials.
The UBEC official said that each of the libraries would be equipped with 40 computers and a power generating plant.
Gambo added that the libraries were meant for teachers in those schools to access information and tools that they could hitherto not access.
He said the commission intervened in the construction of the libraries to improve the standard of education, not only in Plateau, but the country. (NAN)
