So once in a while boredom comes in on all of us. What are some super fun ways to kill boredom?
1. Connect with a friend from the past
I’m one of those people who has all my old friends on Facebook, but beyond the friendly “Like” now and then, we rarely ever connect. And that’s a shame. So, let’s not be “those people.” Make an effort to reconnect with old friends from the past and see if that friendship can be rekindled. Worst case scenario, you’ll find you have nothing in common. But who knows? You might find someone new to help you kill your boredom.
2. Research Your Family Tree
Genealogy is a great way to kill boredom. Do you know your ancestors? How well do you know your family tree? Talk to cousins, grandparents and extended family members. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you might find.
3. Update your Resume/Linkedin account
If it’s been a while since you’ve dusted off your resume, use this opportunity of “nothing to do” to get it updated. You’ll be one step closer to applying for that great new job you’re researching. Also work on your LinkedIn profile, and bring it up to date.
4. Volunteer for a Cause
Look around your community, are there any causes you can volunteer for? Anybody you can help? Check out VolunteerMatch.org to find an opportunity that’s right for you. Also go on twitter and check out the latest.
